HVCA Accredited
The HVCA represents the interests of firms
active in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance
of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration
products and equipment. HVCA members are subject to regular,
third party inspection and assessment to ensure their technical
and commercial competence.
When HVCA members install, replace, upgrade,
extend or repair a plumbing or heating system in residential
premises with an installed value of up to £50,000 their
customers will be covered automatically by the Association’s
Double Guarantee. This means that, if a member firm fails
to honour its contractual obligations to the customer, the
HVCA will step in and meet the cost of putting things right.
Similarly, if an HVCA member firm becomes
insolvent, is declared bankrupt or goes into liquidation while
undertaking a contract for a householder, HVCA will arrange
for the work to be completed at no additional cost. With effect
from two years after completion of a contract, the Double
Guarantee provides an additional four years cover against
major damage to the customer’s home due to defective
design, materials or workmanship.
